Bam Bam The Pug

One thing pugs love to do and probably most dogs in general is to shake. It's easy catching a shake, the hard part is catching a shake in focus on camera. Here was the best I could do.

Well the kittens are over a month old now and have gotten a lot bigger and a lot less helpless. We introduced the kittens to Bam-Bam so they could get used to each other. At first the kittens and Bam-Bam were not too keen on each other but they eventually came around. All except the orange kitten, he appears to be an ol stick in the mud and quite fiesty. Kona doesn't do as well around the kittens, I think it's the terrier in him.

We recently got a new living room furniture set. Here is Bam-Bam testing out the new loveseat. I think he approves, he really likes the color. We like it too, it doesn't show puggy hairs as much as the old couch did.

A couple of months ago a very hungry and skinny little cat came to our home. We took pity on her and gave her some food. At first she was afraid and wouldn't come near us but the need for food over took her fear of people and over some time she began to trust us and even let us pet her. We even bought her a "dogloo" and put an old comforter for her to sleep in during the cold winter nights which she quickly took to. It's the first time I have ever seen a cat sleep in a dog house. We named this little cat Miskit and Bam-Bam was not happy at all with a cat hanging around the house, but he has grown tolerant of her overtime. Well our skinny little Miskit grew fat over time and it wasn't from just the cat food. We had a good idea what was going on and our suspicions were confirmed on St. Patrick's Day when there were three itty bitty kittens in the dogloo with Miskit. There is a little orange kitten and two tortoiseshell kittens that look like her. I tried to take some pictures of the kittens from inside, I didn't want to go out on the deck and disturb them. I managed to get a peek of the orange kitten.

Well Bam-Bam's pug zits seem to be clearing up. We've been cleaning out his face and wrinkles with baby wipes. He doesn't seem to like this, or thinks we are playing with him because somehow the baby wipe ends up in his mouth 75% of the time. I've been leary to put anything else on his face, I didn't know if it would hurt him or not if he licked it.

Poor Bam-Bam has the worst case of Pug acne. The horrible huge pug zits inflict his cute little muzzle and they take forever to heel up. I mentioned it to the vet a couple of weeks ago when Kona was getting his shots and the vet said that dogs can get acne just like us humans do and he suggested using stridex. Have any of you other pug owners out there had to deal with this?

Sometimes I think Bam-Bam is too smart for his own good. He really likes to eat Kona's puppy food, but it is not good for him because it's fattening. So what does Bam-Bam do? He sticks his paw into Kona's kennel and keeps pawing at the food until it spills and he can eat it!

Bam-Bam and Kona like to play chase and wrestle around with each other. It gets to be quite a wild time for the two of them and its a good way to get some exercise when its too cold to take them outside.

Today was a rather nasty day, weather wise anyway. It sleeted and froze rain all weekend. Bam-Bam and Kona were nice and cozy today though. I put Bam-Bam into his ugly reindeer sweater and he settled in for a long winters nap.

Bam-Bam and Kona are so cute when they cuddle up next to each other. I captured these pictures of them the other night.

Here are a few more pictures from our trip to Hawaii. As the weather here gets colder and colder I find my self wishing I was back there now.

Chris and I rented a Mustang convertible to cruise around the island in, this is a picture I took of the coast as we were driving by.

We could always see Hualalai, the dormant volcano in the background. They say that it usually erupts every 200 years and it last erupted in 1801.

This is island graffiti, people take white coral from the beach and form it into writing on the lava flows. This here is the lava flow of 1801.

This is the beach at Kona Coast (Kekaha Kai) State Park, which was one of our favorite beaches to swim at.

Chris and I had a great time in Hawaii this past month. The weather was perfect and sunny and the average temperature was about 75 degrees. If it wasn't for Bammie, I don't think I would have wanted to come home. Bam-Bam was in good hands while we were gone, he got to stay with Linda who is his obedience trainer. He had lots of other doggies to play with mainly bulldogs since Linda raises and breeds bulldogs, but he also got to play with the little dogs too and that's where he met his new little brother Kona.

We were in Hawaii for 8 days and took over 1200 pictures! So I've decided to do a series of Hawaii picture posts, here are a few photos from our first day on the island.

Birds of Paradise. I love these flowers and was excited to see them actually growing here on the island, I had only seen them as cut flowers before.

I hope everyone of Bam-Bam's readers had a wonderful holiday. Bam-Bam sure did, he got what he wanted for Christmas. He got a new baby brother! This little guy is Kona, we named him after the city we stayed at in Hawaii. Kona is a 10 week old Yorkshire Terrier puppy. He is itty bitty at 1.3 lbs compared to Bam-Bam at 22 lbs but he manages to keep up with him. They say that Yorkies don't relize their small size and that is definitally true when it comes to Kona. Bam-Bam and Kona play and wrestle with each other all the time, and I was really suprised at how gentle Bam-Bam is with the new little puppy.
