This may make me the crazy pug lady, but I will admit that occasionally I'll do a google image search on pugs. I enjoying seeing the little puppies, and the adorable smooshie faces. Yes yes, I know, I live with two pugs, so I know you're asking yourselves, "Doesn't she get enough of that at home?" Well, my friends, the answer is no, I can never get enough of it. I've found that I really can never have too much pug, hence the reason I'll go on my occasional googling adventures.

I was on one such adventure the other day when I happened across one familiar furry super hero. Low and behold, it was Bam-Bam, my Bam-Bam and he had been cheezburgered! (Oh the humanity!) At first I was annoyed with the website (and the lack of source cited). I wasn't really all that familiar with the icanhascheezburger.com website, and the babyish bad grammar it promotes. As I was reading through the 82 different captions that had been created using Bam-Bam's image, I found myself actually chuckling at a few. I guess I can come to peace with the fact that my image was taken, all I ask is that I at least get the credit for the photo. :\
When the weather gets cold out, as it has been the last couple of weeks, the pugs will dawn their sweaters and take their very short excursions outside to do their business. Baby doesn't really mind wearing her sweater so much, but Bam-Bam could definitely do without. He wears the only sweater I could ever find that would fit him properly (poor guy still looks like a stuffed sausage), we affectionately call it his "ugly reindeer sweater." He's okay wearing it when he's outside, but once he gets back indoors he wants nothing to do with it. He quickly jumps on the couch, rolls around and tries to "molt" his sweater off of him. Poor Bam-Bam, spring will be here soon, I promise.
Our adoption of Baby the Pug went through a couple of weeks ago. She is a very sweet girl, and is always wanting to be the center of attention. Chris and I have started calling her a "Diva," because she always acts like one. She often pushes poor Bammie out of the way so she can hog all the attention for herself. She had some jealousy issues when she first came to ous, but we have been working on them and she has been getting along great with the other dogs.
Here is a picture of her and Bam-Bam cuddling together, can you tell who is who?
This weekend we took Bam-Bam to the local PetSmart to get his nails trimmed. On the weekends the PetSmart lets local adoption programs bring in homeless cats and dogs in need of good homes. One of the little dogs in need of a home was the sweetest, most precious little female pug. I instantly fell in love with her and knew that she would make a wonderful addition to our family. We filled out the application for adoption, and are waiting to hear back from the adoption group. Please keep your fingers crossed in the hopes that we can bring this precious baby home to us. I can't wait to love on her, and spoil her! Here is a picture, isn't she adorable? I can't wait to see her and Bam-Bam play together.
Bam-Bam and Kona are both doing well. Bam-Bam still has an allergy problem, and it can flare up and become severe at times but we have been able to manage it lately. The worst lately has been a case of conjunctivitis in his eyes caused by the allergies. Yesterday I noticed that his left eye was starting to become a little cloudy. He is going to see the vet tomorrow, so hopefully he'll give us some eye drops or something to help clear it back up. Kona is doing good too, he is still as ornery as ever, and him and Bammie love nothing more than playing a good game of tug of war together.
I'm sorry that it has been forever since I last updated Bam-Bam's blog. I went back to school, and have been busy with that, not to mention that I managed to break my laptop. I will try my best to keep Bammie's blog more up to date. Here's a picture I snapped of Bam-Bam the other day, I managed to catch him in the middle of a nap. He wasn't too keen on being woken up.
Happy Halloween everyone! Bam-Bam is looking forward to the trick-or-treaters coming to the house, where he will no doubt bark at them! It's been busy at our house the last couple of days. I've been busy carving up some pumpkins, this year I did a Jack Sparrow, a pug, and a moon fairy. They turned out pretty good, I ended up winning first prize for the moon fairy in a pumpkin carving contest. The pug of course is my favorite and Chris's favorite is the Jack Sparrow. Bam-Bam was more than happy to model for us in his Halloween costume(granted treats where involved). Here they are.
The Kansas City October pug meet-up was the halloween party. Bam-Bam and Kona both had a good time. Bam-Bam went as a pumpkin this year and Kona as an alligator. There was probably about 30 pugs at the party dressed in a wide assortment of costumes, they were all so cute! Here are a few pictures from the party.
We took Bam-Bam to the pug meetup this past weekend, it's the first he's been to in quite awhile. We also took Kona along, this was Kona first meetup. We brought him along because there aren't any yorkie meetups in our area and we thought it would do him some good to play with other dogs besides Bam-Bam. The meetup this time was in the northland which was nice since we didn't have to drive as far as we usually do, and was hosted in a fellow pug meetup members backyard which was a lot of fun. Bam-Bam had a great time, he's always just "one of the pugs" when he hangs out. Kona was a little unsure at first, he didn't know what to make of so many dogs that were bigger than him coming up to him so we had to hold him at first. But he soon was running around and playing chase with the rest of them. Kona was especially fond of a french bulldog that was at the meetup.

Pugs!
This is Carmen, the pug puppy. Isn't she precious?
Treat time! Bam-Bam is the pug that gets his treat at the end.

I caught Bam-Bam snoozing again, this time on the bed with his little paws hanging off the side. Sometimes I don't know what I'm going to do with that pug.
None of the kittens, except the orange kitten Milo, like Kona very much. In fact they turn into halloween cats whenever he comes around. Perhaps it has something to do with Kona trying to dominate the kitties whenever they are around. Milo on the other hand, is very playful and loves to wrestle around with Kona. It's funny because to me it looks like they are boxing each other and that Bam-Bam is their referee, meanwhile Socks the tabby looks on.
Every now and then Bam-Bam does something that is just too adorable. This was one of those moments. Chris and I caught him sleeping on the couch using a pillow. Sometimes I think Bam-Bam thinks he's more of a person than a dog.
Well summer has been in full swing here in the midwest, with the last couple of days going over 100 degrees. The dogs have grown restless since they haven't been able to go outside and play or go for a walk, they just overheat way to easily. Bam-Bam has found a way to keep cool this summer, in the evenings once its cooled down some we've been filling up Bammie's swimming pool so he can splash around. We like to refer to this as "Hurricane Bam-Bam". It's cute, he likes to make splashes and then try to bite them, he gets mad when he can't catch them.
Kona has been in our family for 7 months now, he'll be turning 1 in October. He's not the little 1.3 lb. puppy he was when we first brought him home in December, he's now almost up to a whooping 4 lbs.! His hair is much longer now and it's much easier to put the hair on the top of his head into a top knot. He's now starting to really look like a Yorkshire Terrier.
Sorry I have not updated Bam-Bam's blog lately. I've been very busy this summer, but I'll try to catch up on some of the things that have been going on with Bam-Bam and Kona.
A couple of months ago Chris and I took a roadtrip to Alton, Ill(near St. Louis) to visit some friends and we decided to take the dogs along with us. It was about a 4 and a half hour drive but the dogs held up real well. I think they had a good time out there, on their little mini vacation.
We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in Alton called The Jackson House. It's a really neat historic old house, but behind they house they also have suites in a rustic barn and also in "The Cave" which is a suite built into the side of a hill. We stayed in "The Cave", it was really cool. Lots of room for us and the dogs, and they got to have the whole place to themselves when we were out.
Here we are driving into Alton, a town built up on the bluffs above the Mississippi river.
This is the Clark Bridge, we crossed it to enter Alton from Missouri.

Yay! We've finally arrived.
